Berlusconi Still in Hospital, But Now Stable

The health of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has continued to improve in recent days. As a result, Berlusconi is in a “stable condition”, according to a statement from the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan on Wednesday.

The doctors also report an “optimal and convincing recovery of his organ functions”. However, a prognosis about when Berlusconi could be released from the hospital has not yet been given.

Berlusconi was hospitalized in early April. For about two weeks, he was cared for in intensive care for pneumonia and chronic leukaemia. Then, ten days ago, the former Italian prime minister was allowed to leave the intensive ward.

Berlusconi, who has been hospitalized several times recently, was prime minister thrice between 1994 and 2011. He is still one of the wealthiest people in Italy, with a fortune estimated at 6.4 billion euros by Forbes. He was elected senator in September, and his party Forza Italia is part of the coalition led by Giorgia Meloni.
