Convicted Ex-Cop Who Killed Floyd will Appeal

The white ex-cop who killed black George Floyd by kneeling on his neck and was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison appeals the verdict.


Derek Chauvin, 45, was convicted in June of this year in Minneapolis.

He will appeal on 14 different charges, according to documents filed in a Minnesota court on Thursday evening (local time).

Floyd’s death on his arrest last May sparked a wave of outrage and worldwide Black Lives Matter protests.
