Data From 14 Million Customers of Australian Lender Hacked

The personal information of some 14 million Australian and New Zealand customers of Latitude Financial has been stolen by hackers. The Australian lender announced this on Monday.

Latitude Financial had already warned about the incident earlier this month, which initially appeared to involve the data of 330,000 customers. However, after an internal investigation, the data leak turned out to be much bigger, reports Latitude Financial.

“We recognize that today’s announcement is painful for many of our customers, and we honestly apologize,” the company said.

The hackers would have used employee login details to steal the data.
