Last week, sixteen people involved in Formula 1 tested positive for the coronavirus.
The premier class of motorsport landed in Zandvoort last week for the first Grand Prix in the Netherlands since 1985. As usual, the international motorsport federation FIA announced the test figures a day after the Grand Prix.
Between Monday 30 August and Sunday 5 September, 6,691 tests were carried out on the drivers, their team members and the Formula 1 staff present. Sixteen positive test results were obtained.
A week earlier, at the Belgian Grand Prix, 6449 tests carried out among Formula 1 drivers, team members, and staff yielded fifteen positive results. However, at the Grand Prix before that, that number was steadily lower.
