An explosion has occurred in a residential complex in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. More than twenty people have been taken to hospital. Some of them are said to be seriously injured.
Five people were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Eighteen others were transported by bus. The vast majority of the victims suffered minor injuries.
The emergency services received a report about an explosion and a subsequent fire just before 5 a.m. They turned out en masse and evacuated hundreds of people. People would have jumped out of the windows. The fire is not yet under control.
It is unknown what caused the explosion. The police started an investigation. There are currently no suspects in the picture.
