Since the Russian attack on Ukraine more than two months ago, 3 million people have fled to Poland.
The Polish Border Guard announced that 24,800 people crossed the border from the neighbouring country on Wednesday.
Conversely, 18,400 people crossed the border into Ukraine, bringing the total of returnees since the start of the war to 904,000. This mainly concerns Ukrainian nationals who often travel to areas the Ukrainian army has recaptured.
It is unclear how many refugees have remained in Poland and how many have moved to other EU countries.
In total, 5.37 million Ukrainians have fled their country since February 24, and 1.23 million have entered Ukraine, according to figures from the UN refugee agency UNHCR.
