Putin in Speech: West Wanted to Invade Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin defended the invasion of Ukraine in his speech on Monday during the celebration of the victory over Nazi Germany.


According to Putin, the West was preparing an invasion of Russia, including the Crimean peninsula, said on Red Square in Moscow.

Putin went on to say that NATO is a threat to Russia’s borders.

Before the speech, there was speculation in the West that the president would officially declare war on Ukraine, but he has not done so.
