Uber competitor Bolt has raised an investment of 600 million euros to set up a grocery delivery service. The Estonian company behind the taxi app has a price tag of 4 billion euros.
Bolt is active in 45 countries in Europe and Africa, including the Netherlands. The company’s taxis operate in the four major cities.
In addition to a taxi service, Bolt also already has a meal delivery branch. The grocery delivery service called Bolt Markets will soon be added to this. It should be available in ten European countries in the coming months.
With a valuation of 4 billion euros, the unlisted Bolt is still a small party. Uber currently has a market value of just under 69 billion euros, and Lyft, which is only active in North America, is worth more than 15 billion euros.
