The British Prime Minister Johnson gave his prime ministers the door on Thursday with a view to the Brexit negotiations coming soon. The BBC reports that.
Johnson announced earlier this week that his cabinet would be redesigned. Surprisingly, Sajid Javid (Minister of Finance) has submitted his resignation, while it was expected that he could remain seated.
Northern Ireland Ministers Julian Smith and Andrea Leadsom of Economic Affairs must take the field from Johnson. Esther McVey (Deputy Minister for Housing) and Theresa Villiers (Minister for the Environment) are also leaving.
Presumably, Dominic Raab (Foreign Affairs) and Priti Patel (Home Affairs) remain at their posts. It is still unclear who will soon be filling the outstanding ministerial posts. Possible candidates include Oliver Dowden, Kwasi Kwarteng, Victoria Atkins, and Lucy Frazer.
Johnson booked a monster victory in the elections in December and forced his country out of the EU a month later. That has made his position much stronger, especially in view of the upcoming Brexit negotiations.
Probably more will be known later on Thursday about the new Johnson cabinet.
