WhatsApp will soon make it possible to edit already sent messages. “Whether you want to correct a typo or add extra context to your message, we’re happy to give you more control over your chats,” the messaging service announced.
After the next update, users can adjust messages by long-pressing the message within fifteen minutes after sending and choosing ‘Edit’ in the menu.
Edited messages are clearly marked next to edited messages so that recipients know the message has been corrected. This has been the case for some time with messaging service Slack and some other alternatives.
“As with all personal messages, media and conversations, your messages and the operations you perform are protected by end-to-end encryption,” WhatsApp added.
According to the company, The update is being rolled out globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
