WHO Team Spoke to the Doctor Who First Reported Coronavirus

The World Health Organization (WHO) team researching the origin of the coronavirus in China has spoken with the doctor who was the first to raise the alarm about the coronavirus.

The man works at Hubei Provincial Hospital, Wuhan.

At the end of 2019, the doctor saw that lung pictures of people who thought they had pneumonia were very different from what pneumonia looks like. The hospital in Wuhan was the first to treat corona patients on a large scale.

The WHO team also spoke with Chinese scientists on Friday, who are researching the lung virus. In the coming days, WHO specialists will visit even more hospitals, scientists, and markets, where the outbreak may have started.

The origin of the coronavirus has become a political theme. The United States has accused China of developing the virus in a lab. China has made those allegations the other way around.
